The Magic of Twitter

Class was full of Tweets! We learned all about the basics of twitter in class on Tuesday. We learned how to send a direct message along with replies and retweeting someone else’s posts. We learned about the magic of tweetdeck, twitter search, and many other applications to make twitter more interactive.

We also learned the value of smaller posts. My prof Bill Handy told us a story about a prof who gave an assignment that said the students had to write the shortest story possible that has to involve religion, romance, and mystery. The only A was: Oh God I’m pregnant, I wonder who the dad is?

We also had a guest speaker on Thursday to talk to us about Social Media, however I was home with the flu so I did not get to hear them speak.

Micro-Blogging

In class on Thursday we learned about micro blogging, specifically Twitter.

Micro blogging is a great way to let your friends and family know how you are doing. I think it’s a great way to keep in touch; however you need to be careful with how often you do micro blog. I think it would be ok to use it 2 or 3 times a day but not excessively.

I have recently joined the community of Twitter. Twitter is a great tool to use to connect with my friend and family. My favorite aspect to Twitter is that I can connect it to some many of my other social net works, like facebook and my blog.
