Salute to Superbowl Halftimes

Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton – 2000 – They all rocked the stage in honor of the millennium.

Aerosmith, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, ‘N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Nelly – 2001 – Got the best of every world.  You got to see the opening with Stiller, Sandler, and Rock making you laugh then see the pop scene with our ever popular Spears and Timberlake.  Then you also get your healthy dose of rock from the famous Aerosmith.

U2 – 2002 – Probably the most moving halftime show.  With the tribute to September 11th and Bono’s show of patriotism when he opened his jacked to reveal the stars and stripes.

Shania Twain, No Doubt, Sting – 2003 – This year halftime was mixed up by kicking off with a country music star.  2003’s also had a new stage that showed video in the floor.

Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson, Nelly, P. Diddy,  Kid Rock – 2004 – Of course Jackson and Timberlake made this the most memorable halftime show around with the nipple guard and all, but besides that attention it did fair to be a great collection of music.

Paul McCartney – 2005 – Very classic with his piano, he still proves to be a world class performer.

The Rolling Stones – 2006 – The Stone’s stage shaped like there famous tongue was a foreshadowing for an awesome performance, however that fell very short.  The band sounded as if the air had been let out of all of their lungs and those moves…well let’s just leave those for you to decide.

Prince – 2007 – Even though the media was still paranoid from the nipple slip in 2004, Prince proved to be a great choice.  He put a great show on for all ages with his improvisation.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers – 2008- They did a great job, nothing to special but for old guys they still got the sound.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band – 2009 – From his comment about putting down your guacamole to his crazy dance moves Springsteen proved to be a great choice for halftime.  His music sounded great and he still pleased the crowd.
